Hello! 

Sidney Cox was born on March 2, 1998 in Burlington, KY. Photography has always been a passion of hers and that’s why she has made photography her career. She was always taking pictures growing up but she didn't realize that this is what she wanted to do until she was about the age of 16. Sidney loves to capture family moments, weddings, self-portraits, couples, and landscape. Her main focus is on body image and how the world tells them to be.

Sidney is attending Northern Kentucky University and throughout her journey in school she has learned a lot about photography and herself as an artist. She is ready to challenge herself more and to make new work based on emotion, dreams, problems in the world, and much more !    

Artist statement:

My artwork focuses more on the darkside. I like to portray anxiety, fears, sadness, and death throughout my work. This world is broken and people avoid it as much as possible. Earlier in my BIO I told you that my main focus is on body image and how the world tells us females to be as human beings. I make work about this subject because it is something I have dealt with my whole life and I want people to know that they are not alone. I want to bring light to this matter. I want to capture that heavy deep stuff that people avoid or get uncomfortable looking at.

I want people to know that all females are beautiful no matter what race, religion, how big you are, how many freckles you have, how much acne you got. All the people in this world are beautiful in their own way and you should own it.
